Runna Launches in Seven Languages, Localising the Running Coaching Platform to Runners Worldwide

Full Runna app experience now available in French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, Italian and Japanese

LONDON, 5th September 2025 – Runna, the world’s top-rated running coaching app, has announced the start of internationalisation on the platform. The app is now available in seven new languages, unlocking access to personalised running training plans for millions of new runners worldwide.

The expansion marks a pivotal step for Runna as it scales beyond English-speaking markets and lays the foundations for global scale and growth. This marks the most significant step in Runna’s journey toward international expansion to date.

Since being acquired by Strava, Runna has continued to prioritise product innovation at pace - the recent launch of Races By Runna and now this global language expansion signal a new chapter of accelerated growth and long-term investment in Runna’s mission.

Making Running More Accessible Worldwide

Runna’s expansion now makes its full app experience – including training plans, coaching videos and partnerships – available in:

  • French – widely used in France, Canada and beyond
  • German – for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and global speakers
  • Portuguese – including Brazil and Portuguese-speaking communities worldwide
  • Spanish – across Latin America, Spain and the global Spanish-speaking population
  • Dutch – for the Netherlands, Belgium and international users
  • Italian – for Italy and Italian speakers everywhere
  • Japanese – for Japan and the global Japanese-speaking community

By internationalising the app, Runna can now reach and empower runners with local language support and culturally relevant content across Europe, Latin America and Asia to train smarter, stay motivated and achieve their goals.

The internationalisation project not only opens new markets today, but also builds the foundation for Runna’s future:

  • Localisation-first App Design: Every element of the app, from language to imagery and content, will adapt to the cultural context of each new market.
  • Scalable Product Development: Runna is embedding localisation into the product roadmap, enabling faster rollout of new features and additional languages can be rolled out all over the world.
  • Community & Partnership Expansion: Runna has partnerships in place with Lululemon, Maurten and Parkrun and will strengthen community partnerships to maximise impact in every localised region.

Dom Maskell, Co-founder and CEO of Runna, commented: “Bringing Runna to seven new languages is a huge moment for us. This means millions more runners worldwide  can fully experience what we’ve built. This is about more than translation: it’s about inclusivity, accessibility and global ambition to make running more accessible, effective and enjoyable for everyone. Strava’s experience in localisation helped us bring this all to life and their support has been instrumental in bringing this update to market at pace and at scale.”
